Terri L. Ward
Director of Performance Improvement, Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance and Credentialing, and Support Services
Background and Education:
Terri initially studied Criminal Justice and earned dual degrees in law enforcement and parole and probation in 1999. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services Management in 2004, and eventually earned a Master of Science degree in Business Administration in 2007.
Professional Career:
Terri began her experience in the medical field in 1991 as an office nurse/phlebotomist at a physician private practice in Yerington, NV. Later, Terri worked as an owner and vice president to a large trucking company from 1992-1994. Between 1994 and 1999, she returned to the medical field and worked in the emergency room/urgent care departments at South Lyon Medical Center in Yerington, NV. In 1999, Terri transitioned to the juvenile treatment/correction field by working at Rite of Passage until 2004. Her next transition occurred in mid-2004 when she began working as an Investigator, Compliance Officer and Field Training Officer for the Nevada State Board of Medical Examinations. During Terri’s professional career, she has maintained Reserve Deputy status with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office from 1998-2009. She is also a certified National Drug Diversion Investigator (NADDI) and has been since 2005. In 2008, Terri proudly joined the team of dedicated staff at West Hills Hospital.
Terri was born and raised in Nevada. Her philosophy is to work hard, be compassionate and honest, and the rewards will present themselves two-fold. Terri is a firm believer that opposition will push her to be the best she can be.

Erin Snell
Director of Assessment and Referral
Director of Social Services
Background and Education:
Erin came to West Hills Hospital from Fort Worth, Texas in December, 2009. West Hills would like to welcome Erin as a valuable addition to the leadership team. Erin holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington. In addition to being a licensed clinical social worker, she recently earned her MBA in 2009 from Texas Christian University. Erin has been a member of the National Association of Social Workers since 2002, and has been actively involved with Tarrant County Mental Health Connection and the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
Professional Career:
Before joining West Hills Hospital, Erin was an Assistant Executive Director of the Masonic Children and Family Services of Texas. She has been a Team Leader for Lena Pope Home, Inc. for Family Matters Counseling and a Program Coordinator for Catholic Charities, Diocese of Fort Worth, Inc. She has also been an Admission’s Director at the Masonic Home and School of Texas as well as a Human Resources Coordinator for MedPartners in Los Angeles, Ca. Erin’s diverse experience and education in marketing, management and clinical social work will be utilized in the department of Assessment and Referral.
Erin is an experienced violinist and loves the outdoors. She is married to Jeremy and they have a daughter, Kayla who is five. Both Erin and her husband are looking forward to taking up snowboarding more regularly since moving to the area.

Don Gay
Director of Human Resources
Background and Education:
Don attended Churchill County High School in Fallon. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology. Don has completed graduate coursework in human relations from the University of Oklahoma and Business Administration from Syracuse University. Don also holds Certificates from the University of North Carolina and the University of Tulsa for completion of Executive Leadership programs.
Professional Career:
Don began his professional career in aerospace spending seven years with Cessna Aircraft and The Nordam Group. In 2003 Don returned to Nevada where he was Employee Relations Manager for the Trex Company in Fernley and Human Resources Director for Wells Manufacturing in Verdi.
Don is married with a two year old daughter, and enjoys watching sports in his spare time.

Ruth Frye
Director of Business Office
Background and Education:
Ruth is a third generation Nevadan. She graduated from Sparks High School and attended Truckee Meadows Community College.
Professional Career:
Ruth has worked in the medical field for the past thirty five years. She started as a receptionist in 1973 and has worked in all areas of a physician’s practice. Ruth is a certified medical assistant, phlebotomist and spirometry technician. Ruth moved up to become office manager and helped set up PMA at Northern Nevada Medical Group. She was then hired as a consultant by Saint Mary’s Hospital. Ruth was successful in collecting over three million dollars of bad debt revenue for the hospital. She came to West Hills Hospital as the Business Office Supervisor in December of 1999 and was since promoted to her current position.

Susan L. Menzie, RN
Director of Clinical Services
Background and Education:
Susan received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from California State University, Chico. She earned her master’s degree in health care administration from Bellevue University, Omaha, Nebraska. Susan has experience with pediatrics, medical/surgical, home health nursing and a wide range of mental health nursing including child, adolescent, adult and geriatric psychiatry, as well as chemical dependency.
Professional Career:
Susan comes to West Hills from Sierra Vista Hospital in Sacramento, Ca. as the Director of Nursing, Sue was a chairperson for the Security Workgroup and was a member of the Central Safety, Emergency Management, and Hazardous Waste Committee. Sue founded and operated her own company focusing on consulting and personal coaching in leadership, communication and other psychosocial issues. She has also worked for Butte County Department of Behavioral Health as a Supervising Mental Health Nurse.
